Bay Farm Island

Bay Farm Island is separated from the rest of Alameda, and perhaps it’s because it’s meant to stand out. Before it was known as Bay Farm, it was known as Asparagus Island because Asparagus was the main crop there. Another fun fact: Bay Farm Island also boasts of its large oyster beds, making them a regular supplier of oysters to high-end San Francisco
